National Institute of Dental Assisting
Effective date: October 10, 2026

This policy explains what information the National Institute of Dental Assisting ("NIDA," "we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our online forms, our text and email messages, and our online course library.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you ask about a program, apply, or enroll, we collect your name, phone number, email address, mailing address, date of birth, emergency contact, education history, and your answers to our application questions.

Documents. To enroll, we ask for a copy of a government-issued photo ID and a high school transcript, diploma, or GED equivalent.

Payment information. Deposits and tuition payments are handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation of your payment. We do not store full card numbers.

Course activity. When you use the online course library, we record your login, your progress, and your results.

Information collected automatically. Our website and forms collect basic technical information such as your browser type, device type, pages visited, and the page or ad that referred you. We use cookies and similar tools for this.

2. How we use your information

  • To answer your questions and send the information you asked for
  • To review your application and enroll you
  • To confirm your identity and your eligibility for the program
  • To give you access to the online course library and track your progress
  • To process payments and keep required student records
  • To send messages about your application, enrollment, schedule, and class
  • To improve our website, our program, and our advertising
  • To meet legal and regulatory requirements

3. Text messages

If you give us your mobile number and check the consent box on one of our forms, we may send you text messages about the program you asked about, your application, and your enrollment. If you also check the marketing consent box, we may send promotional messages.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help, or call (910) 304-2300. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of applying or enrolling.

We do not share mobile phone numbers or text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, other than the service providers that deliver our messages on our behalf.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:

  • Service providers. Companies that run our website, forms, email, text messaging, course library, and payment processing handle information for us and only as we direct.
  • Legal and regulatory requirements. We may disclose information when the law, a regulator, or a valid legal request requires it.
  • With your permission. For example, if you ask us to confirm your training to an employer.

5. Student records and documents

Your ID and education documents are kept in your student file. Access is limited to the staff who need them to verify and maintain your record. We keep student records for as long as the law and our licensing requirements call for, then delete or destroy them. Files are maintained as long as the school is in operation. In the event of closure records, the files are maintained by the  State Archives of North Carolina.

6. Cookies

Cookies help our forms work, tell us how the site is used, and help us measure our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

7. Your choices

  • Texts: reply STOP to any message.
  • Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We will still send messages about your enrollment.
  • Your information: you can ask to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you by contacting us. We may need to keep certain student records where the law requires it.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including limited staff access and secured accounts. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

Our programs are for adults. Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date.
